The Place Up Hanley care home has a full schedule of activities and events organised by our activity coordinators who are trained to provide specialist support to all of our residents.

Our policy on 'Meaningful Activities' takes into account our resident's life history, interests and personality. We always try to encourage and help residents to pursue their hobbies and interests whatever their physical capabilities.

The Place Up Hanley is more than just a residential care home which caters for people for various needs including those who suffer from dementia in Stoke-on-Trent. We provide the right care and understanding to ensure our residents are taken care of both emotionally and physically. 

We encourage our residents to continue doing what they love, whether that is a hobby or maintaining their socialising, and have on offer activities such as:

Live music entertainment, quizzes and games for residents

Our residents in The Place Up Hanley are provided with live entertainment, including games, quizzes and music suitable for our residents.

Walks and trips to attractions in and out of Stoke-on-Trent

Our residents can also enjoy organized trips and walks located within and outside of Stoke-on-Trent. Past trips have included Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Llandudno.

Armchair exercises to keep our residents fit and mobile

In The Place Up Hanley, our staff are also trained to ensure that residents acquire their suited exercises to keep them fit and mobile.

Pamper sessions in The Place Up Hanley

Stoke-on-Trent’s The Place Up Hanley has staff that are also trained to provide pamper sessions for the comfort of each resident.

Regular Outings

Residents at The Place Up Hanley care home have the opportunity to go on regular trips out to local amenities and attractions with our activity coordinators and volunteers.

We also arrange day trips further afield throughout the year, such as trips to Blackpool and Llandudno. The Place Up Hanley care home often team up with their sister homes across Stoke-on-Trent to join them on these coach trips and days out.

Safe Harbor care homes also hold activity sessions and entertainment events at their other homes which The Place Up Hanley regularly join in with. This gives residents an opportunity to visit our other care homes to socialise and enjoy themselves.

Residents are fully supported on days out by trained staff and volunteers. Families and friends are also encouraged to join us on these trips.

The Place Up Hanley have a wide array of activities and events taking place in the home each month. Our activity coordinators spend time with every resident to ensure that their needs are being met.

The home also has links with the local community and often hosts visitors such as church groups and charity organisations and school visits.
