Accommodation at The Place Up Hanley Care Home Stoke on Trent - in Bucknall

The Place Up Hanley care home, known as "The Place", was opened by Safe Harbor in 2016 by the legendary Phil "The Power" Taylor. The Place has 47 bedrooms, a large living room and communal areas, that have been furnished to the highest standard. Bedrooms mainly comprise of single rooms, although we are also able to accommodate couples in one of our twin rooms.

Although rooms come ready furnished, we encourage residents to personalise their room with their own furnishings, decorations and personal belongings.

Social Areas

The Place Up Hanley has one large lounge area, which can be used by residents to relax, socialise and/or to join in with daily activities. There is a adjoining dining area which is used throughout the day to serve meals and refreshments, as well as for activities. There are several more private areas for residents to relax in and to entertain any visitors they may have.

The grounds are managed by our specialised team of maintenance personnel. Residents have 24-hour access to a garden patio area featuring a specially landscaped sensory stimulation garden.

The main communal areas are used for larger functions and events, such as live music shows, animal therapy visits and seasonal events.

Other features of The Place care home include a personal salon, coffee shop, sweet shop and old fashioned pub.

Housekeeping

The Place Up Hanley care home has a team of experienced housekeeping staff who are tasked with keeping the home spotless.

Each resident's room is cleaned daily. Residents may be asked to vacate the room whilst it is cleaned. Communal areas, toilets and other areas are cleaned on a regular basis throughout the day.

If you spot any issues, or require any help with cleaning, please do not hesitate to tell any member of staff who will deal with it accordingly.

Personal Laundry

The Place Up Hanley care home has it's own on-site laundry facilities. Items of clothing can be laundered as and when required. Personal dry cleaning can be arranged at a small cost. You can contact the activities co-ordinators to arrange this for you.

In order to ensure that items are kept safe, please ensure all clothes are clearly marked with your name. We have a name labelling machine in the laundry and so can label clothes for you if you wish.

Bed linen is changed weekly, or more frequently if required. Bed linen, towels and facecloths are all freely provided and laundered on-site.
